My truck is supposed to have 245/75/R16's on it and now I have 285/75/R16's on it. My question is do I live with not having the correct speed reading on the speedometre or can I some how get the speedo to read correctly with the 285's on it. The trucks a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 4.8L V8 4x4 Ext. Cab short box.

I wouldn't really worry about it. The difference is only 7.8%, so when your going 70MPH your really going 75MPH. Plus for every 107.8 miles you drive your odometer will only read 100.

Just buy a GPS like a Garmin or a Magellan. They indicate your speed and are usually really accurate. Thats what I did and I never even look at the speedometer any more.
