I just had my truck into the dealership because transfer case was making loud noise. Mechanic found small pinhole on passenger side of case. Case was just abut dry. They said this is common issue. Has anyone had any help from GMC replacing the transfer case or am I on my own. I was quoted $2300. I had to leave my truck there.

Yes i have seen this before. A cheeper way would be to buy a used one. They are not comon to fail so the bone yards have plenty of them making them cheep to buy. I just did one for someone and it cost me 300 bucks for the t-case.

also you could install it your self it's a stright forward job. don't need many tools to do it.

I guess what I'm trying to find out is if GM has helped in the way of providing parts for free because this seems to be factory defective issue. I want to know if anyone has had any luck with GM re-imbursing customers for parts and/or Labor?

No, there is nothing they will do..They quoted you a high $ amount because the dealer is going to use new GM parts and charge you a very high labor rate. Around here the dealers charge $95/hr and have a minumum charge for amount less than 1 hr.

Well it looks likw GM is going to give me the "bend over" treatment on my Transfer case issue's. They consider the leak in my transfer case from there poor design a "normal wear and tear". Give me a break!!! I guess I need to air my concerns on "Social Media" and let the world know how "Government Motors" treats loyal customers. BTW if you want to talk to a GM rep. you have to call the Phillapines!!

ramrod03,
I understand your concerns with this. I would be happy to look into this further for you. When you contacted customer service did they provide you with a service request number? (typically they start with 71-********) If they did not can you please send me a PM with your VIN? I look forward to hearing back from you as well as assisting you with this issue.
Thank you,
