2004 sierra 1500 gauge failures

My 2004 Sierra 1500 has had the oil pressure gauge and spedometer fail. I will start following the wiring this weekend, any advice on trouble shooting these two failed components. My DC electrical skills are not as good as my AC.

all advice is appreciated, as well as common failures.

Before you go and get your hands dirty, check with the Dealer to see if your Sierra fell within the extended instrument cluster replacement program. There had issues with the 2003-2004 GM and Chevy Trucks.

At worst, your going to have to replace the stepper motor to your oil and speedometer gauge. Do a search on Ebay for steeper motors and you should be able to pick on up for just under $15.00 which is better then a $400.00 instrument cluster.
