2004 Sierra 2500 6.0L w/ 119,000 miles

My orange engine light came on today... the truck runs great, but then I noticed my oil pressure gauge was climbing from 40 (at idle) to nearly 60 as I accelerated. I am not sure what the normal range should be and if there should be that much fluctuation as I accelerate. I did check my oil level and it was normal and my truck does not seem to burn oil (amsoil 5w30) between oil changes. I also am not sure if the engine light and the oil pressure guage are related.

Let me know your thoughts and recommendations.

The oil pressure readings are correct, as for the orange light coming on. Have your Sierra scanned for the DTC codes at is stored in the history, it could be as simple as the gas cap seal going bad or was just lose and can not hold the pressure in the gas tank.

Good luck and keep us posted ;)
