I went to start my truck recently and it started for a few seconds then died. I then noticed that the fuel pump wasn't turning on when I turned the ignition on. I pressed the fuel valve with no pressure. I then pulled the relay and jumped it from the battery and it stilled clicked. I then put the relay back and listened to it click when I turned the ignition. Is there anything else I should attempt before expecting to replace the fuel pump?

Thanks for the help.

If your have over 150,000 miles, then your pump is most likely gone. The fuel pump has an average life of 150,000 miles and anything over that is borrowed time. Also running your gas tank less then1/4 tank and have dirty fuel filter will cause your fuel pump to have a shorter life.

Start with replacing your fuel filter before you replace your fuel sending unit.
