Hello.
I have a 2005 Savana that I absolutely love...except for the doors. They get harder and harder to close, until they will not close at all. (The doors in question are the middle doors on both passenger and driver's sides, which means I can't put the grandchildren in their carseats!)
I took the van to the dealership I purchased it from and they said that the hinges had to be re-welded and painted. The quote of $1,079 was for the repair of just one door.
My son, a former mechanic, said that the hinges are a design flaw and should be covered by the manufacturer. He is going to the dealership with me to discuss this more thoroughly.

My question is this: Has anyone else had problems with the hinges not working properly on the middle doors? I would appreciate any input.

Kinda of confused Shel, most of the time the problem is the pin and bushing to the door hinge just needs to be replaced and take less the 30 min for each door to replace and you don't even have to paint the hinges. Just replace the hinge pin with the kit.

Here is a link to your 2005 Savana for the part to your door. Part labled #9, #11, and #20

Good luck and keep us posted, be glad to know that you manage to replace the worn pins. Most places like Auto Zone or Napa will have the pin kt and also the GM Dealer parts counter.
