Hello.
I have a 2005 Savana that I absolutely love...except for the doors. They get harder and harder to close, until they will not close at all. (The doors in question are the middle doors on both passenger and driver's sides, which means I can't put the grandchildren in their carseats!)
I took the van to the dealership I purchased it from and they said that the hinges had to be re-welded and painted. The quote of $1,079 was for the repair of just one door.
My son, a former mechanic, said that the hinges are a design flaw and should be covered by the manufacturer. He is going to the dealership with me to discuss this more thoroughly.
My question is this: Has anyone else had problems with the hinges not working properly on the middle doors? I would appreciate any input.
