I thought I had a starter problem, but I had it replaced and was tolded to take my truck to the dealer to fix the ignition switch problem. The dealer found the positive battery cable loose, cleaned the terminal & post, retighten the cable. Scan tool showed igniton switch working, wanted to test starter selenoid, but would have to remove intake to gain access. Dealer advisied to take truck back to shop that replaced starter and have them check it since they replaced the starter and did the labor. The shop the put in the starter states it is good and i know it came new out of the box with a life time guarantee.

I still have to start the truck by turning the key to the "ON" position, then try to hit in on real quick, at least two times, the after a few tries it starts.

what do you all think is the problem

Have the shop diag the starting problem the one that installed the starter). If it turns out to be the starter then it should be free.(diag and repair)

Also this truck does not have a igniton switch switch as we know it. It works off voltage sense with the BCM.

I agree that you should go back to the shop that replaced the starter. If it has a lifetime guarantee, shouldn’t they be able to replace it easily?

Thanks,
Laura
