2005 gmc obd

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500. I bought a scanner to test my wife's car. It worked. Tried it on my 2005 GMC. It didn't work. Check the fuse and it is good. Scanner lights up when plugged in. It gives me a error. Has anyone know what my be the problem?

Check the fues panel under the hood. I found that the fuse that controls my 2nd cigarette lighter was blown. Once replaced this fixed the issue and now I can scan codes.
