I am sorry your father is experiencing this issue with his Envoy vehicle. I have researched my resources, however, at this time there are currently no known issues as you’ve described.
I encourage you to have the vehicle inspected by a certified technician. They will be able to offer an official diagnosis after inspecting the vehicle.
