On my dash a warning light has appeared showing a silhouette of the front of the car with a "lock" near the driver side tire. I own a 2006 GMC Canyon and do not have an owners manual to look this up. If anyone would happen to know what this warning light means I would appreciate your help! Thanks!
I should mention this is pretty urgent as my husband is about an hour away from home and we are not sure if it is safe to drive it back tonight.

This is an online owners manual I found for you on google. It is in PDF form.

I believe the symbol you are talking about is located on slide 165/434.

Info in book if you can't open PDF:

This light will come on
briefly when you turn the
key to START. The
light will stay on until the
engine starts.
If the ignition is turned on, and the light flashes, the
Passlock® system has entered a tamper mode. If the
vehicle fails to start, see Passlock® on page 2-15.
If the light comes on continuously while driving and stays
on, there may be a problem with the Passlock®
system. Your vehicle will not be protected by Passlock®,
and you should see your dealer.

The car should be safe to drive. This light has nothing to do with the mechanics. I have a 2008 GMC Yukon Denali and that light apears when you lock the car.
