Hello friends. My family and I were taking a small trip to get a horse about three hours away. While pulling our small two horse trailer, empty. it felt like the fuel pump quit working while we were on the toll road. This was at 2pm. I have AAA so I called them. 4pm no one had shown up. I had wife and 12 yr. old daughter. I am 60 with type 2 diabetes. Hot day, no water. Long story short, we finally got help at 11pm. Anyway, I had a new fuel pump installed and it did not fix the problem. I then had it taken to the local GMC, Griffin GMC in Monroe NC. They said the "fuel pump control module" was bad and put in a new one. Another $800! When they finished, the service manager said, "the engine light was still on but it ran fine on test drive so it's good to go." I assumed the engine light would go off but it did not. I used my OBD2 reader when we got home and it has three codes. P069e. B2AAA. B2A00. I have cleared them three times but the same three codes kept returning. I lifted the drivers side of the bed to check the fuel pump connections and noticed the hose clamp had been left off of the fill hose at the tank. I put a new hose clamp on it, checked the pump connections, reinstalled the truck bed, cleared the codes again. The same three codes are back. As of today, 9/16/2023, the truck only has 72000 miles on it. The truck runs perfectly with the only issue being the check engine light and codes.
Is there a good GMC mechanic on this forum that can direct me to what the problem is? I will be happy to throw you a little tip if you help to direct me to fix this issue. Thanks
