Hello all,
My name is Andy from Virginia & I have just joined this forum site. I have a 2007 GMC Sierra SLE. recently, my driver door speaker has found a mind of it's own. Sometimes it will be working fine and other days it will not be playing at all. I have also recently discovered that the driver side rear window button on my driver door (where all 4 window buttons are) does not work either. You can raise & lower the window from the rear door button, but like the speaker ... from the front door, sometimes it will work & sometimes it won't.

I guess my first question, should I pop off the panel to see if there is any visable problem ? I sure would like to find the problem there. I would hate to start thinking of the cost involved with replacing the head unit or some far reaching electrical problem !!! I was also thinking that every now & then when I smoke in my truck and crack the window & it's raining, sometimes water will drip and fall onto the whole panel where the 4 window buttons are. I was thinking maybe something shorted out.

Anyone have any advise to share. Anything would be great. Thanks in advance for any replies.

You could have blown a fuse, but since it works sometimes, and not other times, it could also be as simple as a loose wire. I dont think you would be able to see a visible problem if you took the door panel off, but it wouldn't hurt to check - they aren't very difficult to remove. I would suggest you take it to the dealer, or any other local garage for some insight.

Since it works sometimes, and not others, it could be as simple as a loose wire. For the window problem, the switch might just be getting bad as well.
