Hello,

Todays mechanic tells me that my years-long, slow oil leak is the result of a bad head gasket, where the AFM deactivation plate is. As you know, this early 2007 6.2L L92 was not an active AFM system, but did have the AFM plate installed anyway. He wants $1,600 to repair it. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

To try to make this a little more clear, as i try to educate myself on this system, the mechanic thinks the oil leak is from a bad gasket on the underside of the AFM Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly. Because this engine is a non-AFM model, but still has a lifter oil manifold, is that manifold just a bare plate with no solenoids?
