Hi there,
I just purchased an 08 which has the Bose sound system. The stereo has no lights or indication of power to it, and I have no door chimes or turn signal noise either. I checked the fuse and it is fine. The car has a non working FOB and it's not the battery. From what I understand I need the Info button on the stereo to reprogram a FOB. I also want a working stereo ASAP. I'm aware that these stereos and amps are problematic.
My questions are: 1) am I correct that I need a working FACTORY stereo(with info button) to reprogram the fob?
2) How do I differentiate if I have a faulty stereo vs amp? I see that they sell used factory units for under $100...
I'm fairly handy and mechanical. I have a multi tester but do not have a wiring diagram of the stereo.
