I just finished rebuilding the engine on a 2008 Acadia that I bought last spring. Other than having a hard time finding certain parts (will never order from GMpartsdirect again), and taking a long time, all went well. I thought. I broke in the engine, changed the oil, got an alignment done, and all seemed to be working well. Then it didn't. Ended up pulling the engine back out and taking it apart to find it spun a rod bearing. I had put in all new bearings, rings, heads, camshafts, rockers, oil pump, timing gears/chains. Just can't figure out why it would have spun the bearing.

If anyone has more knowledge about these engines or what would cause a fresh rebuild to do that, please let me know.

I did find an oil filter adapter that allows for a oil pressure gauge to be installed, and will for sure put it on, but would like to figure out what went wrong to make sure it doesn't happen again.
