Need more info on problem. Single or both doors? Is outside/inside latch not working. Remote door lock/unlock still work? Indicator moves up/down?
Ran into similar problem on my 07 1500 new body style when i changed out the door handles to chrome. Could open door from outside but not inside. There is a very flimsy plastic latch that goes from the inside/outside door handle connecting rod. Could be source of your problem. The latch simply locks around the threaded end of the connecting rod and clicks into itself similar to an electrical connector. Piece of useless junk as the plastic clip bent and broke after opening and closing once on my truck. Had to buy replacement.
