I'm still looking for answers on why the defrost on my 2010 GMC serria wont work correctly when the temperature gets to 32 degrees or lower.
 
I'm still looking for answers on why the defrost on my 2010 GMC serria wont work correctly when the temperature gets to 32 degrees or lower.

The compressor does not run below 32 degrees because it can freeze the evaporator up. On a GMC Sierra for example, the compressor will only turn on with the following circumstances.

1-Ambient air temperature is above 7°C (45°F)
2-The evaporator temperature is more than 3°-5°C (33°-41°F) depending on the customer settings, inside and outside temperatures, and the humidity.

AC won't run with the following circumstances

1-Ambient air temperature is less than 7°C (45°F)
2-The evaporator temperature is less than 0°-3°C (32°-37°F) depending on the customer settings, inside and outside temperatures, and humidity.
