I have never had so many issues with a vehicle before and I have been a loyal GM customer for over 35 years. Never owned anything else, but I am now questioning my loyalty.
My 2011, GMC Sierra 3500 Denali keeps shutting off while driving and sometimes will not crank. The DTC is P2510. I have replace the relay twice and it works for a while. When it is acting up it does it a few times a day. The last time I replaced the relay, it lasted two and half months before starting to act up again. Now I have gone to an after market and it is still doing it.
The first issue I had with the truck was a cal panel leak under the windshield. I happened to be deployed to Afghanistan when my dad discovered the leak and two inches of water sitting on the drivers side of the truck.
The second issue was multiple trips to the dealer for the DEF and eventually a total tank replacement. I had to diagnose the truck myself, and eventually convince them to repair what I said was wrong with it. Tank was under pressure. Then GM came out with a complete tank replacement. PTL.
Now, I am having electrical issues and on top of that I am being told by my sources that there appears to be issues with my model of truck and metal filings in the fuel system, which may require a complete fuel system (hoses, pump, filter, etc.) replacement.
I have 35,000 miles on the truck. One and half of those years, it was parked, occasionally driven, and kept empty on gas. I will be dag-gum if I am going to pay for a complete fuel system repair.
I am afraid to drive my truck because of the SAFETY issue of my truck unexpectedly shutting off and loosing power. I am definitely afraid to pull my 40ft 5th wheel and the SAFETY concerns of my family and everyone else on the road.
I am taking it to dealer again on Monday, but to be honest I am getting tired of having to do my own research, diagnosis and repairs on a $65,000 truck.
Is anyone else having similar issues with their Denali randomly shut off and not cranking?
