I purchased a 2011 sierra 1500 4x4 with the 5.3 about 3 weeks ago it had 10 miles on it and now its up around 800 miles and its is leaking coolant near where the oil filter is located its not alot just a few drops after it sets for a couple of hours i have had it at the dealership twice already and they cannot find the problem yesterday after having it 4 hours they ended up putting pellets in it and told me to bring it back in a week has anyone here seen or heard of this?

There has been issues of the gasket behind the water pump going bad and as for putting pellets is not a fix to the issue, it's just a band aide to mask the problem that will bite you after the warranty is up.

Take it back and have them flush the pellet out of your system before it plugs up other area's like your heater core and water jackets through out your engine which will restrict the coolant flow.

Lastly take it to another dealer, never take my toys to a butcher of cars and truck.

Good luck and keep us posted.
