Having a major issue with the built in garage door opener buttons in my 2012 Sierra. I recently installed a new garage door opener in one stall of my 2 stall garage. The opener functioned perfectly for 2 days with the Craftsman button...then I decided to program the #2 button in my truck. After programming the #2 button, the new opener opens and closes for no reason. It will do this constantly until the motor overheats and give a fault code. I finally just unplugged the opener after going through every possible trouble shooting scenario. Now the real kicker...The #1 built in button in my truck has run the other stall's opener great for years. Tonight I got in and the button would not work. I reprogrammed it and now it is acting the same as the other stall; opening and closing on its own without any input from me. This only happens when the truck is near. I cleared the buttons' memory in the truck by holding the #1 and #3 buttons for about 20 secs until the light blinked...no help. The opener still opens/closes spontaneously.
To be clear, when I'm programming the buttons, I hold the #1 and #3 truck buttons until the lights comes on, then hit the "learn" button on the opener, then hold the desired truck button until the garage door moves. I haven't been this frustrated in a while...
Any help would be very much appreciated!!
