2013 fuel economy

Hello all, first time here. I have a 2013 Sierra SLE crew cab with 5.3 engine and 3.08 gears. Truck has 12,500 miles. I have installed a K & N cold air induction kit on it. The truck almost never goes down to the V4 mode. I have tried all speeds (35 to 80) on level road, cruise control on, no curves, etc. The only time it goes into V4 mode is downhill or when I am slowing down for whatever reason. I have put it in the shop where they put it on the computer and said everything is fine. Any ideas out there.

If you do a search on here, there is another thread related to the recall they had on the trucks. Several people indicated that after the recall fix, the mileage they were getting dropped pretty significantly and some also noticed that it didn't go into the V4 mode very much anymore also. I actually was wondering if it was similar to the old V8,6,4 of the Cadillac. They ended up disabling that feature to keep the vehicles from catching fire if I remember right. The mileage they were reporting was similar to my 4.8 V8 without the cylinder deactivation feature.
