I don't know how many of you have a newer truck but after the trade I noticed a major difference in truck height. I'm 6' 3" and I have never had a problem getting into my truck but this one is a step. I know that I'm old and fat but I think I need some help.

I was thinking of getting some steps to help. I've been on the net looking at some of the nerfbar steps and was considering this but I notice that nobody else around here has them on their trucks. Is there something that I don't know about. Is there a problem with them or why are they not sold as much?

I know I had them on my Suburbans but they were the painted to match running boards and that was popular back in the day.

I also have the 2014 truck and it is 4.5" taller than my 2007. I went online and ordered a pair of running boards and installed them myself. Piece of cake.

Thanks for the reply on the different heights. I just had the local Rhino bed liner dealer here install step nerf boards on mine yesterday. They sprayed the bed tuesday but were out of boards for my truck so I had to go back to get them. They do help in lifting me up to where it don't look like I'm trying to mount a horse getting in the truck.

Running boards

I have the power running boards on mine and love them. It is basically the same as what is on the Ford Platinums. They extend to just the right height to step into the truck. My Mom can step into my truck easier than getting her car. And they don't cost much more than the nerf bars.

westin 4in platinum stainless steel oval nerf bars on mine. Didn't want any at first but when I realized I was sliding out of my seat and in the long run is going to damage my seat( I take very good care of my truck) I decided I needed to get them to protect from many things. I love them now that I have em and wish I would've bought em sooner.

I debated for months of which kind I wanted aftermarket vs factory options and although I was hesitant at first when I ordered them because I had been looking at some factory options from GMC, I am glad I went with these. very very happy with the quality, looks, and ease of installation.

Ordered from autoanything.com
