I recently purchased a 2014 GMC Sierra and am having trouble with playing of mp3s via USB flash drive.

I have a large number of MP3s on a 32G USB flash drive. The MP3s will play but I seem to be having issues with the shuffle selection. I want to be able to play the MP3s in random order, however when I select the shuffle option I experience the following:

1. At times the system appears "stuck" on the first selection. Pressing the "next" selection button only results in restarting the current song.

2. At other times, the system appears to randomly select the songs, but does not appear to be using the entire content of the USB drive since played songs quickly begin to repeat.

I have tried saving a randomized M3u playlist to the USB drive, but that seems to have no effect on the behavior described in #2 even though I have browsed to the m3u playlist and have selected it.

Looking for suggestions how I can get the system to randomly play the MP3s using the entire content of the USB drive (contents in excess of 5000 mp3s)

Many thanks in advance for any help/suggestions offered.

C.

I have a similar issue except I want the USB flash drive NOT to shuffle. I have the shuffle feature turned off but when listening to an audiobook, it plays chapters in random order...very difficult to follow the story like that!

clw - Have had any success is fixing your problem?

No fix for my issue although it seems to be a random thing now. Sometimes when I start the truck it remembers the shuffle settings/song list and continues to play as expected. At other times it behaves as stated in the original post.

If I turn shuffle off, it plays the song list in sequence.

Some dealerships will staff specifically for these issue. I'd contact your dealer to find out. If none available, call this number of my dealer. They have three people on staff and are fantastic. 888.515.5135
