Hey All,
Looking at possibly buying the wife a 2015 Acadia to replace her 2008 Saturn Outlook (which has been flawless, BTW...knock on wood with over 100K now). Only out of the ordinary thing I've had to do with it was fix a seized brake caliper. Other than that, nothing but routine maintenance...
A couple of questions:
1.) Has the timing chain issue been addressed? I would hope so, but just asking.
2.) I am assuming the wave plate issues have been addressed?
3.) Any known issues with the direct injection that these things now have?
4.) Any other types of known issues that I should look out for?
Test drove a Traverse last night. For the first 30 seconds of the test drive, the CEL was flashing, but then stopped. The car *seemed* to run fine. Is this an indicator of larger issues down the road? Looking at the CarFax for it, oil has been changed every 10K which seems too much an interval for me. I do both the Outlook and my Sonata every 5K with full synthetic.
