Is there a way to change how the memory buttons activate the function? You have to hold the programmed button until it is completed. On my 2014 Sierra Denali all you have to do it push the buttons and release to get the desired programmed positions.

I noticed the same thing. I just got my 2017 a couple of weeks ago. Set up my wife as driver 1 and me as driver 2. We both got in the car with both fobs and the seats immediately shoved my under the dash. (she is 5'7" and I'm 6'6") I kept pushing the #2 button over and over with no response, cussing all the time! I discovered as you did that you have to HOLD the button. Like you said, on my Sierra, I can push the button once and it goes to the pre-set. I have the Technology package and still learning all of the features but definitely dont like the memory seat functions they way they are set up.

I just bought a 2018 and will pick it up next week. Anyway, I thought I was watching a video that showed that once you program the button and have the key fob in your one the seat will adjust as you get into the SUV. I guess there would be a problem if you have both fobs and they were programmed different. They also stated that there's a setting in the infocontrol or whatever it is called to program it to work this way or you will be stuck hitting the button every time. I could be wrong about this but that's what the video showed and it seemed to work for him.
