Can anyone explain the, what I would call, really high cash incentive for 2018 Acadias? I see a $6,450 Total Cash Allowance.

USNews had this to say (on March 2nd):
Declining Sales: So far in 2018, sales of the GMC Acadia are down 16.4 percent relative to the same period last year. The class leading Ford Explorer is outselling it by a ratio of over 2 to 1 this year.

Is there something fundamentally wrong with these Acadias, or are people just not digging them (maybe in favor of the new Traverse)?

A quick search on this forum will show numerous transmission issues with the Acadia and GM being unwilling to address the issues with the owners. I loved the looks of the Acadia when they first came out, IMHO a very classy looking vehicle. The new ones, not so much. Still a decent looking vehicle, but given the trouble prone history I would not purchase one.

My lease on my '14 Denali (arguably the best vehicle I've ever owned), was almost up, I gave it back 3 months early to get a new '17 Limited (the old style) before they ran out of them. I never was in love with the new design, too small for me and I just didn't like the "soccer mom" look, I wanted something "trucky". And in my area (Long Island, NY) I see more Limited's then the new model by A LOT! So for me, even with the very generous incentives I stuck with the old model. My sales rep even said she could do better price-wise for me if I leased a new '17 Denali as opposed to the Limited. Almost a year with the Ltd. and I'm happy, other then a few minor things so far so good.
