My radio comes on sometimes at start by itself with a blank screen. Other things happen I.e. today I just see the station number and not what the call letters are and no song title. Looking back in the trucks records I see the main system was re-programed for something, don’t know what.

After perusing Youtube I can attest that It's not just the Denali's but appears to be pretty much every GMC Vehicle that has a touch screen. My 2015 Sierra started 4 years ago and hasn't ever really resolved itself. At first I thought it was the battery being faulty or dead but after replacing the battery for a third time it still carried on. Even when the battery was fully charged.

So today I noticed something. We hit a pothole and immediately the radio started acting up with the touch screen not working, it started asking me to make a phone call it changed the channels at will brought up the channels screen and carried on like it had gone insane. So when I got to my destination I restarted the truck and restored all the radio and truck settings to factory and it worked fine for the rest of the day. But this was the third time in a month that when the truck was jarred that the radio started acting up and every time the battery was fully charged.

So i'm starting to lean towards a lose wire and someone said GM told them they had to replace the audio head or the radio itself. Because when it happens the screen still brings up the heater and other non radio related commands. But after watching every YouTube video out there (and there are alot of them) I'm no further ahead at figuring mine out definitively and the dealership doesn't seem to know anything about these issues despite there being a crapload of them.

So the only suggestions I have are to ensure your battery is fully charged because it seems to happen more often if the voltage is down, restore all your settings to factory if it happens again and keep an eye out to see if there's an outside factor that could contribute to it's malfunction like a loose wire or faulty circuit board.

Here's a video for a 2019 that's got issues and apparently here's the fix. I can't attest to the cost or if it actually fixed his issues but I wanted to talk to GM before spending the money and time to try it on thea 2014-2018 generation.

But good luck anyway.

I have a brand new 2024 Sierra Denali with the bigger screen and the Sirius XMradio cuts out at least 10 times a day. They want me to subscribe to something that doesn't work well at all. I even have the touch screen go blank a couple of times.
