After stopping for fuel on a highway trip the truck would not start. Upon pushing the start button, the engine tuned over for about 15 second with out firing. Once the button was pushed, there was no way to get the starter to stop. Check engine light came on and the indicator said that the truck was in Battery saver mode.
I pulled the negative cable off the battery for 30 seconds and it corrected itself. No more check engine light. Battery was not weak at the time and had been charging about 14.5 volts according to the dash gauge.
Any ideas as to what May have been going on?
