New to the board as I am looking purchasing a new 1500 Diesel. I swore off GM after two bad Chevy's (one Brake Failure not fixed by GM and the other was bad Transmission at 60k miles) and said I wouldn't come back. Have been a Ram guy since. I want a LD Diesel as my final truck before retirement for the increased mileage as we travel. As I am sure everyone knows Ram's fuel pump issue with theirs so that is not an option. I have a friend who has a friend that has the GMC version and loves it.
Here is my dilemma, I want to know from you guys who have the truck what issues you have with your 2023-2024. As I understand there was a change to the motor for 2023. I saw something about people thinking the truck gets louder?? Diesel noise. What issues are you guys having, what do you love about the truck? I want to make sure I make the right decision on this new truck. My current Ram a 2017 has 209k on it and I have done very little to the truck and it has performed as expected. It just sucks on gas mileage. Don't want to get 15mpg the rest of my life. Lastly, I meticulously log everything on my trucks. I have every tank of fuel, oil change, tire rotation or any Maintenace logged in a book that stays in my truck. When I talk about fuel mileage and what my truck actually gets it has nothing to do with the gauge in the truck. I appreciate any and all info. If you are OCD like me even better
