Gents,
As the title states, I have issues with my truck giving me a check engine light and a message stating it’s going into reduced acceleration mode but doesn’t. The only things that occur is that I can’t use cruise or remote start. I have had it to the dealership and they have cleared to codes after checking it out. They say it’s a fuel delivery code…don’t have the specific code.
I have found that if I shut the truck off for about 10-15 seconds, the light is still on with no message and I can now use CC. The light will eventually go off on its own and it returns to normal.
I do have an aftermarket fuel filter system (VSE) and have had it on the truck for a majority of the miles on the truck (over 60k at this point). Never had an issue until this winter when the temps dropped closer to zero. Replaced the filters thinking I could have gotten bad fuel or bad filters. Within days of changing filters, it happened again. Dealership is reluctant to change the sensors due to amount of work involved. I have used Hot Shots Winter treatment with no resolution. My next step is to put the factory fuel filter housing back on and see if that remedies the situation.
Anyone have a similar experience and is there a fix? I have seen several post on other forums stating they have the same issue regarding low air temps and this message. Tech at the dealership told me that these trucks don’t like aftermarket parts…
Thanks
