2025 GMC Sierra backup camera unusable at night

I just purchased a 2025 GMC Sierra and found the backup camera is unusable at night. I traded a 2018 GMC in and it worked perfectly. The camera is so bad at night you cannot make out anything from objects to the pavement. I've read forums stating this started in the 2024 production. Has anyone found a solution to this safety concern?

I’m new here and hopefully picking up my new 25 next week so I personally have no experience with this light, but seeing post from other owners on FB forums sounds like they’ve had good success with these or ones like it. I have also seen one that is a plug and play basically light pushes into you trailer hitch and simply plugs into the back of the 7pin adapter. I do not remember who makes it. Hope this helps you

I have trailer mirrors which have a backup light that can be turned on manually that help a little bit, but if I were to add some extra lighting I think I would go with the Morimoto License Plate light. They seem to work really well.
