2020 Sierra, 3.0L diesel, bought new, currently 42,000 miles
I’ve had this issue a few times but yesterday was by far the worst episode. I drove 900 miles yesterday and for the last 30 miles I heard a distinctly different exhaust sound. It sounds like a fairly loud exhaust leak. Checked under the hood and found the fender on the passenger side to be very warm, almost hot to the touch. No obvious black soot streaking on the engine/turbo area. Haven’t gotten underneath yet to take a look. This morning I started it up and the sound is normal.
Anyone having this issue on their 3.0L? Any troubleshooting ideas?
