Hello everyone. I am absolutly new to 4 wheel drive. Just bought my 1995 GMC K 1500 SLE a few months ago and recently had the need for 4 wheel drive. I have the 4 wheel shifter on the floor. When I shifted to 4 wheel, the 4 wheel indicator light never came on and the 4 wheel drive never engaged. In doing what research I could, I am of the opinion that the actuator is out or the switch on top of the transfer case is not working. I checked the fuse block in the cab and found the 4 wheel fuse to be ok. I did also notice that the #2 fuse in the block says "transfer case" but has no wires going to it and no terminals in it to put a fuse. This leads me to believe it may be for 4 wheel with the switch in the dash instead of the floor shifter but I am not really sure. I am pretty good at shade tree mechanics but just not experienced in 4 wheel drive. Can someone shed some light on the "missing #2 fuse" and this issue with the 4 wheel not working please?
