I keep getting the "SERVICE 4WD" msg when I shift out of any 4WD mode back to 2H. my local Goodyear guy says it's a bad dashboard switch. the switch does cycle thru all the lights when starting 99% of the time. the only time it won't is when I get that "SERVICE 4WD" on the driver display. then after a few cranking/shutdowns it goes away again. any help would be appreciated. thanks!

These push button switches are notorious for going bad. They cost less the $50 last I heard.

switch

I got one for $66 + tax = $73 fro O'Reilly Auto Parts. Dealer wanted $160 + tax.

well it could be a lot of things. There is a lot to the system. Now you can play the lottery and buy a switch and HOPE it fixes it. Now if it does not fix it then you just spent your diag money on a switch you did not need.

My point is just have it diag by a pro cost is 1 hour labor 90 percent of the time then you will only spent the money on the part you need.

Also if your going to guess then i suggest listing all the parts of the system on a dart board and throwing the darts becaues you will have almost the same odds of fixing the tk.
