Alright this is my problem, i have a 95 GMC Jimmy and the 4x4 doesnt work. my switch is fine in the car, but when i hit the button i can hear the click noise but both 4 hi and 4 lo lights flash. there is a noise coming from the transfer case. i cleaned the tccm plugs and my actuator under my battery is not froze up. im getting absoulutely no vacuum to the acuator though. my hoses seem fine from what i can tell. im not very good with cars so thats why im asking. i just want my 4x4 back! any help will be aprreciated

If you search back through this forum there have already been several postings on this topic.

I figured that I would put something constructive on here since we already have sarcasm.

Replace the vacumm switch on top of the transfer case. It is a brass like plug that screws in on top of the transfercase. It has a rubber connector with three hoses coming out of it.

I laid on the ground with my head towards the driver side front tire. If you look on top of the transfer case you can see it. It is a tight fit to get your hand up in there but not impossible. When you replace the switch there is a locating tab on the switch and a recess area on the plug to ensure that it lines up right.

The part costs about $11-15 at any part store. This is a common fault. As a matter of fact, I have heard of people keeping spares in their glove box.

I hope this helps.

ontop of the transfer case like blove said is the 3 tube plug,

but first before replacing that check if all vacuum lines are correctly laid out and none of them are disconnected from it,

had the same issue, problem was my vacuum line going from the actuator to transfer case was not hooked up to the top of the transfer case
so it wouldn't engage the front wheel

the hoses were hooked up, and i replaced the switch but i still have no 4x4. both lights still blink when i try to engage the 4x4. also it wont even try to engage if i moving at all. i unhooked my battery for a while to try and reset my computer. after doing that it tries to engage while im moving and only one light blinks at a time correctly. could it be my tccm?

Mine does the exact same thing. I have tried everything that you have and I still don't have 4x4 either. With deer season around the corner it is a must that I have 4x4. Once I have saved enough pennies, I am going to install the manual shift kit that mounts under the dash and it is a cable operated system that overrides the vacuum crap. I am pissed that I have bought a new switch, actuator, run new hoses etc... I like my stuff to work like it was suppose to from the factory. However, in this case, I am throwing in the towel and going manual.

the vacuum design is another example of poor engineering. i would love to have manual lock out hubs and a manual transfer case. Also i see that you mentioned deer season. DEER HUNTING IS MY LIFE bow season is the best time of the year by far no contest.
