4x4 Front Whl Hubs Design 1 vs Design 2

This is on a 97 Jimmy SLS 4x4.

Does anyone know if both front hub designs (1 or 2) are interchangable? Do they both have the same number of teeth on the ABS reluctor ring?

Design 1 has an external reluctor ring for the ABS pu sensor, which is the original design for these hubs.

Design 2 has an intergal ABS pu sensor.

I am wondering if any in the group has done any research on this?
