Hi,
I just got a 2003 GMC Sierra 2500 with the 6.0 liter that I absolutely love.
The only problem is when I'm taking off, especially on bumpy roads, the throttle is very sensitive and it's hard to keep steady. Is this something that a stiffer throttle spring can fix?

The Drive By Wire was used first in the 01 trucks in the C3 and some of the HD's, and is now standard. The bouncing pedal is a common complaint and yes a heavier spring really does help. The factory tried to cure it by adding a delay into the tuning, and that did help also. I know the dealer can adjust this delay to your preference, to make it much better for you.

One guy I know, mounted an RC truck shock (Remote Control truck) on the pedal next to the spring on the gas peddle unit and said it worked perfectly and completly eliminated it. Here is a link toy our accelerator paddle.

Good luck and be safe and try not to don't fool with the accelerator pedal to much. It is electronically controlled and could mess up.
