I have a 84 jimmy s15 4x4. It is leaking tranny fluid very fast from what looks like the tv cable tube coming out of the top part of the pan mating surface on the right side of the tranny. Anyone have any idea on what this could be and how to fix it? Thanks

Does anyone have a picture of the right side of a 700r4 tranny so I can see what all is there?

If no one else steps up, I can get a pic. Only thing is that I can't do it for 3/4 days from now. Have you tried on-line google search?

well sounds like your kick down cable has a crack in it or a bad o ring on it.
Easy to fix but need to know how much you fix your own stuff? This is not for a beginner.

If u could get me a pic of the kickdown cable housing and a lil bit around it that would be awsome!! I do all of my own work im just not used to rear wheel drive let alone 4 wheel drove. All of my experience is on honda's. I've just gotta get my jimmy goin cause if we get more than 2 inches of snow this winter my honda wont be leaving the driveway. Lol. It started leaking on me last winter after driving with chains on due to the 4x4 not working. I think I got that part fixed tho.

Does the transmission need to be removed to access the kickdown cable or would I be able to just remove the tranny mounts and tilt it down a little. Its been raining here an im not able to get under her right now.

Ok so I got the housing for the kickdown cable off and the seal was garbage. Has anyone ever tried to just replace the seal with an o-ring or something of the like?I cant find just the seal locally.

Ok so I just put a flat o-ring on her the other day and it didn't work. Looks like I will be replacing the cable assembly soon.

Just an update. I replaced the kickdown cable assembly and as of now it seems to have fixed my problem.
