I just bought an '85 burban and it needs some work on it. I am going to put a 4" lift on it, and I need to replace the shocks as well. what is the best route I can take to do this? is there a better brand than another i should look for? any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

Can't speak to the lifts but I just added air shocks to mine. When I replaced the hitch on mine, the hitch place recommended Gabriel Hijackers. But, after comparing the specs and cost, I found that the Monroe equivalents (max air) actually provided more max air fill (up to 120lbs ) which provided more lift/support than the Gabriels and were cheaper as well.

I have an 86 2500 and I tow heavy loads. The air shocks were a great improvement.

Good Luck.

Right on! Thank you for the info, i was actually looking at those online at Oreiley Auto. I'm not pulling anything just yet with it, but you can never tell what the future holds for the "beast"....
