93 Sonoma 2.8 5spd won't start

My sonoma will not start without a little starting fluid. Replaced fuel pump and filter. Did notice today tho that 2 wire splices at starter were made, 1 wasn't even connected so I don't know where it goes, other was ignition to starter (it came loose so I have to redo it's butt spice.

Anyone have a picture of the wires at the starter. There is a single wire down there with a buggered up connector just chilling not connected to anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
