94 Suburban whining noise from front right area in engine

Good morning all,
A whining noise upon start up that gets louder as i accelerate, lessens when i let off gas pedal. Appears to be coming from under the hood on the right front side. Told to re-route serpentine belt, cause was a/c compressor by some random person at auto parts store.
Bought a power steering fluid pump and fluid last night as my son thought the fluid was the cause because it was dirty, no help.
Any other suggestions?

I had a noise like that and had to replace ac.

Take your belt off and spin the various accessories by hand.....You should be able to hear or feel bad bearings in one of them.

I took off the a/c compressor and put a pulley there, did the trick.
