95 Jimmy Emergency Flasher Switch

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone has had problems with their column mounted Flasher Switch. I cannot get mine to pop up. It seems stuck in off position. If I play with it for a while it sometimes pops up and goes back down OK.
Any ideas?:confused:
 
Yes, it is could be called dirt and grime.

I took mine out and there was lots of debris in/around the switch and the housing. If you ever took the ball out of your computer mouse and saw what is accumulating in there, well, it sure looked like it.

I cleaned it well and popped it back in, no more sticking.

How did you take it out?
 
Not that difficult. I just had to take off the top part of the steering wheel column (I believe 2 hex screws from underneath, then you see the switch exposed.

If you want to take it out, there is a little plastic tab facing you, gently push it in and the switch comes out. Pull the plug away and you have the switch by itself.

And don't forget to clean the inside of the plastic cover (around the steering wheel). Lots of goo inside.
