I need some assistance. I'm literally at a loss on thes vehicle and will sell it if I can't get it running soon.
It's a 95 stepside 5.0
It started out hesitating on acceleration then gradually declined to where it wouldn't stay running and is not drivable. When I start it now, while it's cold it runs smooth. Only after it warms up does it start to stumble then just dies off. It will start right up but then doesn't want to to idle and seems to be flooding on its own. I have changed the fuel pump and filter, rebuilt throttle body three times. Replaced injectors, plugs, wires distributor (yes it has a whole new destributor), cap and rotor, EGR valve, idle air control, throttle position sensor. It might run better when I disconnect the O2 sensor but it still dies no matter what.
I recently paid $800 for a shop to repair it but it wouldn't even start when I got it back from them!! They had wires crossed and once I checked the firing order and fixed it, it will now run. The only thing they did is clean the old gas out of the tank because Iet it sit too long.
It really is too nice of a pickup to junk but like I said, it is beyond me. When it did run it ran great! Front end was good, looks really good etc. I'm pulling what hair I have left out!!
