My 96 sierra is having issues when gassing on the pedal as if passing someone. It seems to start fine, idle fine, and during normal (easy) pedal depression drive fine. But when you get on the pedal hard its bogging down almost as if it isn't getting enough gas. I have done a normal tune up on it: new oil filter , oil , air filter, fuel filter, plugs, cable, rotor, and cap. Original codes where to many to list however since tune up the only one coming up is p0101 mass or volume air flow circuit range/ performance. I thought maybe fuel pump issues but that would seem id have trouble with starting and idle if that was issue. Any thoughts on this would help. I'm not a mechanic and Dont have the tools to do pressure test and such.

Start with the simple and check your wire leads to our MAF sensor and clean it with MAF sensor cleaner you buy at Auto Zone.

Good luck and keep us posted and also check your vacuum lines for and damages such as cracks or too soft that may be collapsing under vacuum.

Good luck and keep us posted

'96 still ha several vacuum lines replace them all it is inexpensive and easy to do just do them one at a time there is at least one hard plastic line ( my 98 had it) check that line carefully check the burn mark on the rotor is it on center of the tip if not the distributor may be phased wrong the is if it is a crank fire system( is there two wires coming from behind the harmonic balancer)

I will get the cleaner and start there, along with the vacuum lines it is very possible they are too soft. The burn mark on the old rotor did seem to be in the center and on the end ( it has been replaced)

So do y'all agree that I probably Dont have a fuel pump issue?

The burn mark on the old rotor did seem to be in the center and on the end ( it has been replaced) my truck had always a miss at idle when I replaced cap n rotor all the burn was on one end
I rotated the distributor and it ran better everywhere
