Does anyone know where I can get wiring diagrams on the a/c system. I keep burning up relays for the blower motor.

Thanks Larry

No not really, I did changed the relay and relay socket. But the blower motor cuts on and off when im driving. Im thinking maybe the blower mot is bad>

I suppose the blower motor is ok. Did you check amp draw and ohms on it.

Buy a multimeter. It will tell you how to check amp draw. Essentially what you'll be doing is, interrupting the circuit (disconnecting the power feed to your motor) and hooking one meter wire to the power in, and the other meter wire to the motor terminal. If you cant pull the motor wire, you can cut the wire and hook the meter up, so that power to your motor runs through the multimeter.

The multimeter will also tell you how to check ohlm resistance. With power disconnected from the motor, put one test lead (multimeter) to the motor terminal and the other test lead (multimeter) to the metal casing of the blower motor. You should read very high resistance, close to infinity. If you don't get a high resistance reading, then your motor has a short.

You need to be careful using a DMM (Digital Multimeter) for checking current draw on items, as most DMM have a limit on how many amps that they can measure. This is the one measurement that will burn up your DMM as it will not go into Overload. So you need to understand what current you should see in the circuit before you connect a DMM.

A better meter to use is an Amp Probe, as this meter measures current based on the strengh of the magnetic field that the current is creating.

a/c problems

I did finally fix the relay problems, it was the relays. But now I'm having problems with the air coming out of the vents. Everytime I step on the gas pedal, the harder I step on it, the air slows down to nothing coming out. I still hear the blower still turning. I was told I have a vacuum leak. I checked the hose going in the firewall and it holds vacuum. The hose going to the intake does not. I dont know what you call the item that the hoses connects to on the intake but it also has a hose going to the valve cover. Could that item be bad? I do have oil on and in the hoses.

Thanks Larry

If the oil in your lines are transmission oil.

Your 4X4 vacuum switch on top of your transfer case has gone bad and thats where your getting transmission fluid in to your vacuum lines. This is very common and it cost about $25.00 and is a good 30 min job to do with an open end wrench after you pull off the 3 vacuum lines off it to replace it.

Once you replace the switch, try to clean out most of the line and replace the ones that have gone soft. The vent switch in the dash is a multi vacuum switch and your gong to have to remove it and clean it out with brake parts cleaner if you think the oil made its way to the switch also.

Would this problem be for why when i put it in hot mode that the air does not come out of the vents also?

That is a possibility cause the vent door actuator does not have enough vacuum to keep it to where it is set at, unless you have a Auto climate control and then its going to be an electrical issue like a bad heater door vent actuator that lost its neutral position marks.

No auto, when i go from a/c to max a/c you can hear the blower motor speed up but no more air comes out at the vent also.

Check your switch for leaks or fluid in it and clean it out. Start with that and then make your way to the vacuum door actuator from the glove box after it has been removed, but in most case that part should be fine.

keep me posted;)
