Trying to change the camshaft position sensor in my 96 Sonoma, Vortec engine. Under the distributor rotor is a metal plate which the rotor attaches to. I have to get that off in order to change the camshaft position sensor. It looks like that metal plate is pressed onto a shaft of the distributor. How can I get this part off? What about the alignment of this plate and the rotor for correct firing sequence? Can I just press it back on or do you replace it with new? Any help here greatly appreciated.
