Hi, I have a 1997 GMC Jimmy and my two front u-joints are bad. I wanted to know if it would hurt anything in the transfer case if I removed the front drive shaft and still drive it until I get the u-joints replaced. It is also awd it doesnt have the push button 4 wheel drive. Thanks

You should be fine to run the Jimmy without the front prop shaft. I use to do it all the time with my Typhoon when the joints go bad and would vibrate the whole drive train until i get a chance to replace it.

was your typhoon a push button or have a lever to switch from 2wd to 4wd or was it all time 4wd?
