I recently purchased a 97 GMC Sonoma 2.2L 2WD truck. The truck was lowered 2" before I bought it. I would like to buy a lift kit for it and have it installed elsewhere since I dont have the time or the patience at the moment to do it myself. I'm looking for a 4" overall lift from the current hight, so it would be 2" from stock. I'm currently running 225/50R16 tires on 16" Chevy IROCZ Camero rims and defiantly would like a larger tire/rim combination. I have priced lift kits at $170 to $300, not comparing the kits themselves just the prices, and labor in my area is about $60 to $80 an hour. I have no clue as to how long this would take, or even what exactly would go into lifting this truck up. Aside from the obvious leaf springs, shocks, struts, tires, rims, what am I looking at paying to replace? About how long would it take to complete?

It should take no more then 5 hours to replace parts in the front and rear to lift the Sonoma and that is including the wheel alignment time also need to make sure the truck runs straight down the road. The other road you could do is to resell your Sonoma and buy one of the ZR2 off road package which comes with the lift kit, and Bigger Wheels, with the wider rear axle stance already from GM. I am sure there is always someone looking to buy a pre-lowered Sonoma. :D
