When I go to turn the key to start the vehicle it clicks once and doesnt turn over. The click sound sounds like its coming from the firewall somewhere but cant figure out where exactly. A couple years ago i replaced the ignition switch, but recently i bought a new starter and still just clicks once and does nothing. I also replaced the battery. So right now the only way I can start the vehicle is but putting the key in the on position and take a flat head screwdriver and jump the terminals on my starter and it starts no problem. It has been like this for months and I have not clue as to what it could be. If anyone has had this problem or knows what it could be it would really help me out a lot thanks.

Sounds like your starter solenoid has gone bad and will need to be replaced.

Recheck your wire connection at your starter and if everything looks good, then its your solenoid at the starter it self.

Good luck and keep us posted

I already tried changing the starter. I bought a brand new starter that has a solenoid mounted on the starter itself and still did the same thing. I checked all the wires and connections still doesnt turn over. I dont think I have a separate solenoid mounted away from the starter but I could be wrong. Im still clueless

IMO
Starter is good , battery is good , connections are good .
Hmm...
I'd look into an ignition switch .
There are threads here on it .

Jomo,
There is a starter solenoid on the passenger side of the engine bay near the battery and its easy to replace it. Its located over top the wheel well. Those go bad from time to time. Seems if you can jump it at the battery then the mentioned solenoid could be your issue. Solenoid doesnt cost much, either.
