98 GMC Sonoma 4 cylinder exhaust?

i have a 98 gmc sonoma and its a 4 cylinder.i want it to have a better sounding exhaust without having a rice burner noise.any suggestions on what i can do to make it have a nice leveled out sound to it???like i said i dont want it to sound like crap..

magna flow exhaust definitely, BUT if you dont want rice burner then you can get a big ass end, just got a 3 inch at the most and it will sound pretty good

You got a 2.2 liter and it's the nature of the beast to have that rice burner noise. The issues is that your engine has only one bank so you wont have that V6, V8 or any V engine sound caused by the right and left banks during it's cycles. The best you can do is to ether use a 50 or 60 series muffler to eliminate the rice burner sound from a single chamber exhaust which is tinny, but the lower tones will seem quieter for your 2.2 Vortec.

Personally, I'd go for the quieter exhaust and pick up a performance intake that makes my intake noise loader. Nothing like a sleeper for a 2.2 liter engines that can eat rice burners all day at the track.

just got a exhaust on my truck 2000 gmc sonoma step side, just get whatever you think would look the best
